Makeda, the beautiful and wise Queen of Sheba, reveals to her son, Prince Menelik, that the father he has yearned for his entire life is in fact the legendary King Solomon. He learns that he must embark on a journey to meet his father carrying Solomon’s magic ring, which she had agreed to give to Menelik at his coming of age. With Tamrin, the wise chief of Makeda’s merchant caravan, as his guide and mentor, he is joined by a band of adventurous travelers who accompany him on his expedition down the Nile River to Israel . On his journey he finds himself the subject of an assassination plot. Battling the forces of his evil nemesis, Lord Ta’ahk, and tormented by demons, the prince must overcome all manner of challenges to fulfill his heroic destiny to become the first Hebrew king of Sheba.

 

This adaptation of the Queen of Sheba legend is based on the mythology, historical accounts and archeological examination of the Red Sea costal regions of Ethiopia , the Arabian Peninsula, the Sudan , Egypt and Israel . The primary sources are the Kebra Nagast, the Tanakh (The Old Testament), the Talmud and the Midrash, the Qur'an, as well as Kenneth A. Kitchen’s cornerstone research entitled, The Third Intermediate Period in Egypt (1100-650 B.C.) This tale serves as the root mythology of the Rastafarian religion.
